Jones Building Group Support Rotary Club's Christmas Shoebox Appeal

This year Jones Building Group have taken part in the Rotary Club’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal.

Established in 1994, the Rotary Shoebox scheme was originally set up to provide children of Iasi in north-east Romania with Christmas gifts. Since then, it has become a national project supported not only by Rotary Clubs but individuals, schools, companies and other volunteer organisations.

The appeal involves filling shoeboxes with gifts and toys which are then sent to disadvantaged children, teenagers, families and babies in Eastern Europe.

As a business, we successfully filled 50 shoeboxes and raised money to cover the cost of postage. Members of the Rotary Club visited our Head Office on Thursday 9th December to collect the shoeboxes. These will the be distributed distributed to orphaned children, teenagers and disadvantaged families in Central and Eastern Europe in time for Christmas.

Given the global situation over the past 20 months, it was more important than ever to do something for those whose circumstances don’t allow them to enjoy this time of year in the same way that we can.

Thank you to all of our fantastic staff who took part in this appeal and helped spread some happiness this Christmas period!
